The IES LC Study Group is designed for those
planning to take the 2019 National Council on Qualifications for the
Lighting
Professions (NCQLP) lighting certification exam. For the first time we
are also
opening it up to those who wish to improve their lighting knowledge or
gauge if
they are adequately prepared to write the exam in 2019. Registration to
take
the exam is separate please go to www.ncqlp.org
to register.
The IES is offering a revised and
updated LC Study Group, an online, web-based support program.
Enrollment in the
LC Study Group is not mandatory in order to take the NCQLP exam. Please
note
this is a Study Group, not a course, and the participants are expected
to have
a solid lighting knowledge to participate.
NEW in 2019:
Due to the increased interest in
participating in the IES LC Study Group and the increase of those who
are not
fully prepared to write the NCQLP Exam, we have initiated a new LC
Study Group
Entrance Exam. Acceptance to participate in the Study Group is
restricted to
those who score 72% and higher on the Open Book, 25 multiple choice
question exam.
Those who fail to reach 72% (18/25) but score 52% (13/25) or higher
will be
given a second opportunity for entrance. For those who score less than
52%, we
suggest you continue with your reading and studying and reapply in
2020. (There
is no cost to take this Entry Exam). To
request an Entry Exam, please contact Tom Butters, Director of IES
Education at
tbutters@ies.org.
Successful
completion and final payment must be processed
by September 1, 2019 to gain entrance. Please allow one complete week
for
processing. Applications after August 26th will not be
accepted.
